Got a cool new semi-supervisor at work, who assigned me the second greatest number of tasks among everybody and expected me to do it in half of my time - truthfully speaking, I should be capable of finishing it in collectively one-third of the time I have before the deadline. On the other hand, he had got himself the greatest number of tasks among all; and while he assigned a secondary to help with almost every primary task, he didn't assign anybody to help himself – well, he didn't assign anybody to help me either, which at least meant he trusted me as much as he trusted himself. We had pleasant long talks in the afternoon and I already like him a lot. I might be able to help him later in some way. :)

  • Got one of the best books ever from roommate. Set a goal to finish it.
  • Got a much clearer idea of the test experience from roommate, looks like I still have a little way to go: for starters, getting under 3 minutes per 4 reading comprehension problems, and at least finishing the paper practice tests on time.

Even knowing always that there are a lot of things I could do, it never failed to marvel me when the actual possibilities stroke me in the face. I am still pretty far from my limits, but every now and then I could make a move to push myself closer. The simple knowledge of there being a place for me to go is an exuberant one, and the pursuit of that place alone is a good enough reason for me to stay alive.

Finally, a nicer day than the whole past week, and realizing the use of goal ascension for the first time since this started. Life is extended for now at a pretty significant cost, but the channel for a longer-period ticket is discovered. I should at least have a chance to get there.

Just realized that the total number of new vocabulary I gained from the whole 'Bean quartet' of Card's is still fewer than 100. Granted, the grasp of those I did learn had been decent. But it's probably time to start piling practice tests on top of me once I ran out of novel to read.

Also remembered today how nice striding down the streets between the school and the house is, especially when it's Sunny outside. One can actually get some good amount of thinking done while counting steps, more so if you walk to some neat rhythm. ^_^
